Salvatore Meli joined EniTecnologie in 1985. Prior to joining ET, he spent 8 years as a researcher first at University and then in the former R&D organization of ENI Group, named Assoreni. Since 1998, he heads the Engineering& Modelling Dpt. of EniTecnologie and has been involved in multiple R&D Projects in the field of energy and environment, both in the oil&gas upstream and refining and petrochemistry sectors. Recent experience are related to remote natural gas valorization, heavy residues upgrading and H2 and renewables perspectives. Mr. Meli received the University degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Naples in 1977.

Born 5 June 1947.
Graduated (Chemical/Petroleum Engineering, thesis on catalytic
dehydrogenation of butane) in 1970 from Institute of Oil and
Chemistry, Baku (former USSR) and Doctor of Sciences (Physical
Chemistry, thesis on photocatalytic systems for hydrogen production
and activation of alkanes) in 1990 from Institute of Chemical
Physics, Moscow, Russia. Joined Florida Solar Energy Center in 1990.
Reviewer of Int. J. Hydrogen Energy, Energy & Fuels and J. Solar
Energy Engineering. Author and co-author of more than 140
publications and 16 patents on hydrogen production technologies,
environmental photocatalysis and hydrocarbon processing. Recipient
of the University of Central Florida (Institutes and Centers)
Distinguished Researcher of the Year Award.
