Born 20 Jan. 1939. Graduated (Physical Metallurgy, thesis on textures in tensile stressed hexagonal polycrystals) in 1969 from Univ. Mining Academy Freiberg/Saxony, PhD Academy of Sciences of (former) GDR, (thesis on reactivity of mechanically stressed solid electrodes) in 1984.  Since 1991 Project leader "Materials behaviour in low temperature tribosystems"; Leader of the study group Berlin/Brandenburg of the German Tribological Society (GfT). Reviewer of Int. J. Hydrogen Energy (since 1995) and author of more than 50 scientific papers.
